After Romania in 2023, Italy has won the final of the World Tasting Championship 2024 organized by La Revue du Vin de France. Some forty teams from thirty-eight different countries competed throughout the morning of Saturday October 12 at Château Dauzac in Margaux. Twelve wines, French and foreign, were subjected to blind tasting. For each wine, competitors had to identify the main grape variety, the country of production, the appellation and the vintage. And so it was the Italians who scored the most points and won this eleventh final.
“It's unreal!” exclaimed team coach Pierre-Yves Challier, in the excitement of announcing the results. Carried away by emotion, the team embraced several times amidst the applause.
