On the occasion of the World Tasting Championship stop this year in the Jura region, The Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois has joined the family of partners and will have the opportunity to present their wonderful wines for tasting to the delegations attending the competition.
One of the first wine co-operatives in France, founded by 31 winegrowers from Arbois, on 4th January 1906.
It was awarded France's first AOC for Arbois wines on15th May 1936, followed by the Côte du Jura AOC.
The Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois currently brings together almost 100 members of the cooperative over a wine-growing area of around 300 hectares, producing more than a million bottles of Jura wines every year.
Established in 1969 in the heart of Arbois, it quickly acquired a cellar and top-quality vinification facilities, at the same time as moving towards environmentally friendly viticulture by practising integrated farming. Since then, other methods such as organic farming have been practised by some of the cooperative's members.
