About Châteauneuf du Pape

The first wine AOC in France in 1936, the 3150 ha of the appellation extend over 5 communes: Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Bédarrides, Courthézon, Orange, and Sorgues.

With 300 harvest declarants, the AOC produces an average of 90,000 hl per vintage, which is about 12 million bottles, distributed 92% in red wines and 8% in white wines.

Benefiting from a unique natural heritage, the AOC relies on 13 grape varieties, 5 distinct terroirs, and an exceptional climate, marked by sunshine and the mistral, to produce exceptional wines, the majority of which are exported (65% of volumes). Historically and continuously committed to sustainable development, 35% of the AOC's surfaces are now managed using organic or biodynamic farming.
